Growing a Balcony Garden!

I’ll admit, I don’t have much of a green thumb. In fact, I’ve had a hard time keeping most plants in my care happy, healthy, and alive! For this reason I haven’t taken it upon myself to keep many plants around the house, let alone start my own garden. However, at a recent visit with our friends at Green Thumbs Growing Kids, I got excited about the idea of planting my own garden: Not only have I recently moved into a new apartment where I have a beautiful and spacious balcony, I wanted to learn more about how food grows and watch this natural process unfold.

World No Tobacco Day: What young Canadians have to say about access to tobacco

Ontario’s population health strategy for health promotion around tobacco control (including Smoke Free Ontario) has been highly successful at reducing smoking rates for most age groups across the province. However, youth and young adults have been more resistant to tobacco control efforts, and are among the most heavy users of tobacco products.

How do you capture meaningful data using social media?

This question has been on my mind a lot since we launched the Access Project. As you can see in the attached photo, I took some time out the other day to jot down some ideas on a whiteboard in an attempt to better understand where all of our data will be coming from and how to piece it together in a way that will make sense and tell a coherent story about the process and outcomes of the project.
